Right now, there is a bill in front of the US Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. It has been sitting there since 4/20 of this year. This bill was passed on 4/19 in the US House of Representatives and was sent to the Senate for ratification or alteration.
In December, the US House of Representatives will vote on the MORE Act. If this act is approved by the House, it then moves into the Senate for a review and vote. If the bill is approved (and unchanged) in the Senate, it goes before the President for the signature to put the bill into law.
